District 9 - HD TV Spot #1: Level 5 Alert!

I saw this today while I was watching Daily Planet on Discovery. Been a while since someone did something unique with a movie TV spot.

Then I went to see Brüno tonight with an extended trailer of this film that perhaps gave too much away. Compare this to the teaser, complete with added mystery and the smartly implied television documentary structure.

Ok. I’ll start:

Sigh. The devil is in the details.

Couldn’t have said it better haha. Although personally, I can’t wait until I get to meticulously track Anita Sarkozi’s (HumanID #000000004) every movement.

This is some real recession-proof corporate spending. Thousands (probably millions for the campaign) of dollars for some marketing firm to do a flashy lip-service to “ideas”. Gimme a break. How exactly does this connect to Microsoft’s current practices? If I go out a buy a computer today I can’t do any of these things.

I hate to make this comparison, but you don’t see Apple talking about how great it will be when your Macbook folds into your pocket. I also doubt there’s a room in Cupertino where shoeless dudes sit around and talk about ‘e-paper’.

Here, a fleece of the Church’s younger Snuggies (“Snuggies”) are indoctrinated through the ritualistic roasting of pillow in a semicircle.  After this, they’ll go down for a nap and a nestle.  And then they will commit murder.

Members of the BSS must dawn their robes even during the ceremonial act of copulation, in which they must exchange fluids by coyly passing them in a thing under the robes, with the sole divine aim of forging a new cuddlebunny in the image of the Leader.

From Wikipedia:

Vince Offer is a writer, director and comedian best known for appearing as a television pitchman for ShamWow! absorbent towels.

In 1999 Offer released the Underground Comedy Movie to scathing and extremely negative reviews. Lawrence Van Gelder of the New York Times described the movie as “a series of sketches built around subjects like masturbationdefecation, alienation, urinationnecrophiliavoyeurism, casual brutality and mockery of the unfortunate.”
How do they come up with that? I don’t remember saying I’m a weakass on facebook.
