Funky Monks
Despite having some reservations about some of the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ recent endeavours, I can’t discredit the material produced during their creative peak. A peak centred around their 1991 album Blood Sugar Sex Magik. This documentary is an insight into the creation of that album, taking place over a few months in a supposedly haunted house in the Hollywood Hills.

Stream NO AGE's new Losing Feeling EP →
Out in October, but available for pre-order and streaming at Sub Pop, is No Age’s new EP. I’m still listening but so far it is wonderful.
Also, if you are in the vicinity of any of the shows No Age is doing with Dan Deacon and Deerhunter, and you are not attending, then you are a complete stupidface. If there was a show in Toronto I would sell my first born to go.
